Last Wednesday, Le10 Sport explained Chelsea have initiated contacted with Sergej Milinković-Savić’s representatives.
On July 6th, Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Blues and Real Madrid have ‘started to move’ on the Lazio star, providing competition to Paris Saint-Germain. It was also suggested the asking price has dropped and he’s no longer valued around €100m.
La Lazio Siamo Noi now state the midfielder’s agent, Mateja Kežman, is establishing contacts with Frank Lampard’s side and the Ligue 1 club.
Kežman ‘still has several friends’ at these two clubs [he played for Chelsea and PSG in the past], while he also shares a good relation with the Serie A club.
The Rome based side are aware they cannot compete with the likes of Real Madrid, PSG, Chelsea, when it comes to offering a ‘dizzying’ salary, and a move to either of these clubs would be an important career opportunity for the 25-year-old.
The website has also rejected claims made elsewhere about the price tag and state it’s impossible for Lazio to accept a proposal of €70-75m for the player. His €100m price tag ‘remains’ and Claudio Lotito has no intention of offering discounts.
In other words, if Chelsea, PSG or any other suitor want to take Milinković-Savić, they will have to meet Lazio’s demand of €100m, and if not, he will continue with the Italian club next season.
Down the player’s end, La Lazio Siamo Noi stress the Serbian hasn’t given up on winning the title and therefore doesn’t want to be distracted with the rumours [until the end of the season], unless there’s a concrete intent from a club.
