Earlier today, we relayed a claim from Corriere dello Sport that at least five Premier League teams had enquired about Stefano Sturaro over the past month.
Those were West Ham, Leicester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Crystal Palace and Newcastle, and the Italian newspaper stated this week would be key in defining the midfielder’s future.
Well, speaking to JuveNews.eu, the player’s agent took some time out to clarify his client’s situation, and it seems a transfer isn’t that far off.
He said: “In football, anything can happen, because there are plenty of offers. Not only from West Ham and Leicester, but at least four other clubs are interested in my client, who doesn’t have a favourite destination. I’m just waiting on a decision from Juventus.”
So, from this, we can go ahead and guess that three of the other four team are the ones mentioned by Corriere dello Sport, meaning there’s one unknown entity in the mix.
As for Sturaro not having a ‘preferred destination’, well it seems it could all come down to whose offer Juventus accept.
However, it appears the Serie A club aren’t exactly in a rush to agree to anything just yet.
The agent also stated: “In reality, an imminent sale isn’t on the cards, even if there are several opportunity to evaluate on Juventus’ table.”
It seems patience is really going to be a virtue in this deal, and if the Hammers, the Foxes, the Eagles, Wolves and the Magpies are all indeed keen, and want a deal sorted for the Italian midfielder sorted soon, they might have to prove more convincing.
