Despite previous reports in France that Nottingham Forest had stepped away from talks with Lyon regarding Houssem Aouar, we now see one claiming they are returning for a new attempt.

It comes from Media Foot, who claim the player has been ‘in agreement’ with Steve Cooper’s side for the past ‘two weeks’ and is ‘waiting for the green light’ from the newly promoted side.

In fact, that could happen in ‘a very short amount of time’, as Nottingham Forest are ready to make an offer to please Lyon.

The outlet state that ‘considering the financial demands’ from the Ligue 1 side, ‘the deal can happen very quickly’.

What had slowed things down, according to them, was the fact that Nottingham Forest have been working on so many deals, but with the likes of Sofiane Diop turning them down and Lucas Paquetá now heading to West Ham, they’ve fallen back on Aouar.

Media Foot go as far as stating the deal ‘could be concluded by the end of the week-end’, meaning the upcoming clash against Reims could be his final one with his childhood club.
