Southampton are still showing interest in Anderlecht youngster Marco Kana but face competition from AC Milan for his signature.
That’s according to Voetbalkrant, who say the Italian club are ‘serious’ about the midfielder this summer.
The website explains that it is likely to be a busy summer for Anderlecht, particularly when it comes to outgoings, and the youngsters are ‘increasingly in the picture’.
Two of those are Marca Kana and Sambi Lokonga, with AC Milan showing an interest in the January transfer window after signing Alexis Saelemaekers from Anderlecht last summer.
They remain keen, but when it comes to Kana, ‘there is still interest’ from Southampton, who were also named as suitors back in November.
Back then, it was reported in Italy that they were looking ‘carefully’ at his situation, and they ‘like’ the midfielder, with Walfoot in Belgium then explaining he could move over a lack of playing time.
They also stated, though, that it would take a ‘sum that cannot be refused’ to secure his signature given he signed a new five-year deal back in September.
It remains to be seen whether Southampton will offer such an amount, but it appears their interest has not gone away ahead of the summer transfer window.
