Aston Villa midfielder Carlos Sanchez has spoken to the Italian media about his bad experiences whilst at the club. The Colombian international is currently on loan with Fiorentina.
Speaking to Corriere Fiorentino, Sanchez was asked about his time at Aston Villa following their relegation from the Premier League season. Sanchez said originally Paul Lambert brought him to Aston Villa, but after he was sacked the club went through several managers. The South American revealed it was a difficult situation to play in, but believes it has taught him something.
“The coach who wanted me, Lambert, was there for just six months. In the year and a half in which I was there we changed managers five times: How do you work in such a situation? Even though bad experiences do teach you something and that’s why I was always calm,” said the Aston Villa loanee.
Fiorentina have the option to purchase Sanchez from Aston Villa permanently, but if that doesn’t happen he’s got a contract with the Championship club until June 2018. However, given Sanchez’s participation in the team so far this season, despite Sousa rotating, a move is looking likely in the summer.
