Earlier this year, there was big concern at Porto regarding the future of Otavio. The midfielder’s contract was close to expiring and his signing was wanted by several clubs, including some from the Premier League.
The 26-year-old ended up agreeing to a new deal with Porto, signing a four-year extension, but apparently, that didn’t end the chances of a summer move for him.
Newspaper Correio da Manhã today writes that a few clubs are interested in buying Otavio from Porto this summer, and Liverpool is one.
The Reds are said to be in the mix with Fiorentina and Valencia. And it seems Jurgen Klopp’s side would have some advantage in this battle.
Correio da Manhã says Liverpool are the club who ‘most seduce’ the Brazilian player, even though he sees a move to Fiorentina or Valencia ‘with good eyes’.
Otavio is protected by a Porto with a release fee of €60m. However, this new deal includes a clause which says he can be signed for €40m before the end of June.
The newspaper doesn’t seem to have any information on which clubs have engaged in talks for his signing.
