Following the stories we already saw this week regarding Wolverhampton Wanderers’ efforts for the signing of João Palhinha from Sporting, we get to find another one written by newspaper Correio da Manhã today.
The outlet now claims the midfielder is ‘closer’ to Wolves. They point out the player is about to leave the Lions and the Molineux side are the ‘most likely destination’ for him.
According to Correio da Manhã, the Premier League side have ‘practically defined’ that they’ll sell Ruben Neves this summer, and now look for the alternative.
That’s where Palhinha comes in, since he has ‘the approval’ from Bruno Lage, and the deal is said to be ‘pending to the offer’ from Wolves, while Sporting demand €30m for the move.
This week, we’ve already seen Wolves ‘formally started talks’ to sign Palhinha, as they’ve taken the ‘last step’ before making an offer, which was to speak to Sporting regarding the price.
Now it seems to be a consensus in Portugal that the Molineux side are still to place their official bid for the midfielder, and with the Lions getting prepared to sell him, there’s quite an expectation about it.
