On Tuesday morning, Sport Witness reported Gabriel Sara would travel to England on Wednesday to complete his transfer to Norwich City.
It turns out our information has been backed up by Globo Esporte, who claim the player was set to fly out on Wednesday evening, local time. He’s said to be accompanied by an entourage comprising of people who work for his agent, Carlos Leite.
Globo Esporte still points out that Gabriel Sara is leaving São Paulo without a farewell match, as it’s been three months since he had ankle surgery, and he was supposed to play for them again in August.
It turns out, however, that when commenting on the transfer, Band Sports journalist Arnaldo Ribeiro now points out that the midfielder may only be ready to play for Norwich City in September.
As reported by Sport Witness, the clubs plan to announce the deal on Saturday, or could bring that forward to Friday, depending on how fast things go.
