Alexis Mac Allister is finally on his way to Brighton.

It’s been a long road for the Seagulls could finally get their man. It all started in January 2019, when they agreed a fee of €10m sign him from Argentinos Juniors.

Due to the lack of a work permit, he couldn’t feature in the Premier League. That’s why in July, Brighton loaned him to Boca Juniors on a one-year spell.

Since the midfielder finally got his European passport, the Seagulls paid the Buenos Aires side a fee to cut short his loan spell.

Still, the English side had to wait for the player’s participation in the Pre-Olympic tournament for Argentina.

The competition ended on Sunday, with Argentina getting the title, and after a few days off, Mac Allister is finally flying to the United Kingdom.

The midfielder was spotted at the airport on Thursday morning, and even had a chat with the local press, saying he’s grateful for his period at Boca Juniors, but now it’s time for a new challenge.

It’s still not clear when he’ll be able to make his debut for Brighton, even though it’s safe to say Mac Allister has been in great form recently.
