According to Super Haber, Besiktas midfielder Gary Medel is edging closer to signing for West Ham United this summer.
The 31-year old was linked with a move to Manuel Pellegrini’s side during the last winter transfer window but remained in Istanbul.
Super Haber claim Medel has agreed on personal terms with West Ham and is very eager to play under his compatriot Pellegrini.
Medel will reportedly join West Ham on a free transfer as he will look to terminate his contract with Besiktas at the end of the season.
It’s been well documented in the Turkish media that the Super Lig side have withheld salary payments to the Chile international, similar to the situation with Pepe before his departure.
The former Cardiff City man has also been linked with a move to Serie A side Parma, but it’s thought West Ham are now leading the race to sign the player.
Medel is under contract with Besiktas until June 2020.
