Throughout this week you will have spotted us covering several stories involving Brighton and Alexis Mac Allister.
Originally the story was that Brighton were trying to bring the Argentine midfielder, who is out on loan at Boca Juniors, back in January.
It was later revealed that wouldn’t be happening, as a clause in the deal, which stated if he’d played less than 50% of Boca’s game’s then Brighton could break the loan, hadn’t been met.
Despite Brighton’s best efforts, Mac Allister won’t be returning, and now it transpires they’d have had a tough time convincing him to do so anyway.
El Intransigente cover the situation today and explain how the club have been trying to get him back but ultimately failed.
They also reveal how the 20-year-old views things and it seems he wants to stay where he is for now.
He’s reportedly ‘very comfortable’ at Boca and intends to stay there for the foreseeable future as he is getting the regular game time he needs for his development.
Likewise, he is also a fan of the club, which further adds to his desire to see out the loan deal until it ends next summer.
That will likely come as a blow to Brighton, whose hopes of getting Mac Allister back early are now seemingly at an all-time low.
