Vitoria Guimaraes midfielder Andre Almeida is ‘being discussed’ by Wolverhampton Wanderers ahead of the summer transfer window.

That’s according to Jornal de Noticias, who say Bruno Lage’s side could soon make a proposal for the youngster.

According to their information, Wolves are keen on the 21-year-old midfielder, who has 31 appearances in the Liga Portugal this season.

Their belief is that Wolves soon ‘may advance’ with a proposal starting at €6m and ending up at €8m to secure Almeida’s signature.

They’re looking to take advantage of the fact that his contract with Vitoria Guimaraes is set to expire in 2023, meaning the Portuguese side could be forced into a sale.

They do have an option to extend his contract until 2024, so that gives them some comfort, but it would just be a case of delaying a decision for a year.

Almeida has caught the eye this season despite not scoring and Wolves are not his only suitors, with Porto also keen on him last year as well.
