Martin Braithwaite is set to have a medical today to leave Middlesbrough, report Marca in their Wednesday edition.
The Danish footballer is expected to join Leganes, although the final details of a move haven’t yet been completed.
According to the Spanish newspaper, Braithwaite will arrive at Leganes initially on a loan deal lasting until the end of the current season. To give them a purchase option in the summer, probably at a price agreed in advance, Leganes are said to want a clause put in the transfer contract.
The move is presented as fact by Marca, with the only question being about the clause.
Braithwaite has made 17 Championship appearances for Middlesbrough so far this season, and has contributed three goals during that time.
His deal with Middlesbrough expires in June 2021, which gives them the breathing space to agree a loan, although the English club will probably also be keen on some kind of commitment from Leganes to make the move permanent in the summer.
