Starting strongly in their return to the Premier League, Middlesbrough’s form took a bit of a plunge over recent weeks, but a 2-0 win over Bournemouth at the weekend has certainly put them back on track.

Negredo’s inability to find the back of the net since the opening day of the season might have something to do with it, and eyes have, reportedly, turned towards a new striker for the second half of the season.

According to Il Messaggero, Aitor Karanka has highlighted Lazio’s Filip Djordjevic as a target for the January transfer window, and the Serie A side would be willing to let him go.

The former Nantes star has only made eight appearances under Simone Inzaghi this season, including four minutes off the bench at the weekend, and is yet to find the back of the net or assist his teammates so far.

Lazio’s desire to show him the door would be to, with the money made from the sale, replace him with young French striker Sébastien Haller, who has continued his prolific form from last season in the Eredivisie in the current campaign.

No price has been set on Djordjevic, but if Lazio want to spend €8m max on Haller, we can only imagine they will want around the same for the 29-year-old Serbian striker.
