French defender Jordan Amavi was linked with a move away from Aston Villa in the summer, but wasn’t desperate to get out, despite the club’s relegation.
However, with Aston Villa not exactly running away with the Championship, Amavi’s future could lie elsewhere should they fail to gain promotion at the end of the season.
According to a latest report from French newspaper L’Equipe, Marseille could be keen on signing Amavi. Marseille boss Rudi Garcia wants to make defensive reinforcements in the summer and is looking to sign a left back, and has identified Jordan Amavi as a target.
However, there are several other names in consideration, and it remains to be seen if Amavi would want to return to France or continue in England.
Aston Villa signed Amavi in a £9m deal from OGC Nice, and the player has another four years left on his contract.
