During Peru’s participation at the World Cup it was repeatedly reported in Portugal that Benfica were confident Andre Carrillo’s performances would help them sell the player for a higher fee.
The problem was, whilst Carrillo played well it probably wasn’t well enough to overcome his poor form at Watford and Benfica, and there’s simply not been a queue of clubs coming forward.
Everton have been the side linked most with a move for the winger, and it’s stated again by O Jogo on Sunday that Marco Silva has asked the Premier League club’s board to try and sort out a deal.
But there’s a problem, Al Hilal are now in talks to try and sign the player. O Jogo report Benfica could be about to agree to a loan deal, which is a complete new track from all the confident claims of the previous few weeks.
Al-Hilal would pay a €4m loan fee and cover all Carrillo’s wages. Everton are stated as still interested
