According to a claim in the Turkish media, Bayern Munich have stepped up their pursuit to sign Everton forward Henry Onyekuru.
The German giants have been linked with the Nigeria international in recent months, with the player impressing whilst on loan at Galatasaray this season.
Fanatik have reported on the latest developments with regards to the future of the Everton youngster, and they say Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has telephoned Marcel Brands to ask about the availability of the player.
However, it seems the Everton sporting director will put up a fight to keep the 21 year old at Goodison Park after reportedly telling Salihamidzic it will cost the Bundesliga champions €40m to sign him.
According to Fanatik, Bayern Munich have scouted Onyekuru on several occasions this season.
Due to his ongoing problems getting a work permit which would allow him to play in England, the attacker has yet to make his competitive debut for Everton after joining the Merseyside club just over 12 months ago.
This has resulted in the player being loaned out to Anderlecht for the second half of last season and now Galatasaray for this campaign.
