On Friday we covered claims from Spain that Mauricio Pochettino has recharged his batteries and is ready to think about returning to work.
Given the stage of the season, it’s likely he’d be looking towards the summer, and several clubs were presented as interested.
Manchester United are keen, with it being stated they’re not sure about Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future despite the club’s good run recently. The claims came from Guillem Balague, who is probably the journalist closest to Pochettino, having written a book with the former Tottenham boss and attended many events with him.
Saturday’s edition of Marca, as usual, has a column from Jose Felix Diaz. He’s the Spanish newspaper’s chief editor and therefore pretty important in the country’s sport media.
Rather than link Real Madrid to Pochettino, Diaz instead presents Manchester United.
The Old Trafford club are ‘pressing’ for the Argentine manager, because they’re ‘unclear’ about Solskjaer for next season.
Manchester United are said to want a ‘final answer’ from Pochettino, who is waiting to see what happens in the market and waiting for other proposals.
Despite being from Argentina, Spain’s is very much Poch’s second home, and it would appear that he’s sending out messages to the country’s media to help highlight his availability.
