Marca have a big claim on Friday evening about Monchi potentially moving to Arsenal this summer.
The AS Roma sport director has been continually linked with the Premier League club. There have been reports in Spain about Arsenal wanting to firm up their Spanish leadership base, and Monchi would be a big part of that.
Over in Italy it’s been made clear that an exit from Roma has been seen as possible, with Monchi’s time at the Serie A club not going as well for him or Roma as had been desired.
Marca say Monchi will leave Roma on June 30th. It will be the end of his of his contract, so there would be no compensation to pay for Arsenal.
The idea of the Gunners, should they end up appointing the sporting director, would be to pair him with Unai Emery, as the two had already been together at Sevilla.
Monchi built up a very strong reputation whilst at the Spanish club which saw him linked to several big sides including Barcelona.
There’s no claims of negotiations or details of a potential contract, with the Spanish newspaper making it clear Arsenal are keen because they want to give Emery the same environment he had at Sevilla.
