Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in Juventus forward Douglas Costa, with the Italian side open to a sale.
That’s according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, who say the Brazilian is throwing the Serie A side’s plans into ‘havoc’, so they are considering selling up. He has his ‘suitcases ready’, waiting to learn his next destination.
They explain that Costa is a player who is able to drive Juve fans ‘crazy’ but his injuries and inconsistent form mean that Pirlo believes other players are ‘more functional pawns’.
Thus, they consider him a ‘possible starter’ in the transfer market and would be happy to sell him should the right offer arrive.
There is ‘nothing concrete’, and the Bianconeri are waiting to see if anything arrives on that front but should it, they will find Juventus more than willing to sell.
Costa currently earns around €6m per year, and that is considered far too much for a player who is not in the starting XI and ‘expendable’.
Nothing moves yet, with Wolves and Manchester United having to play their cards right in a transfer window that has been made difficult by the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Their interest in the player is there, though, and if they can figure out a way to get the finances right, they’ll find Juventus more than accommodating to a transfer.
