Reports about Tottenham Hotspur’s chase for Benfica striker Haris Seferovic continue to pop up in the Portuguese media.

Today it’s newspaper Correio da Manhã who talks about the interest. Despite previous reports concerning a loan move, the outlet says Spurs are in for a permanent deal.

Their report claims that Tottenham are willing to pay upto €15m for the player, but that offer wasn’t good enough to please Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira.

It’s said the Eagles would rather loan Seferovic for a season and include a buying option which would be bigger than €15m.

According to Correio da Manhã, Vieira wanted to sell Seferovic for at least half of the amount of his release clause, which stands at €60m.

The striker is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €10m, and has a contract with Benfica running until 2024. He had nine goals an five assists in 28 appearances for the Eagles last season.

Recent reports from Portugal said Spurs were also interested in Eagles star Carlos Vinícius, who’d be a much more expensive option. In the past few days, only Seferovic has been mentioned.
