Manchester United are ‘willing to bid’ for Watford defender Pervis Estupiñan but face competition from Atlético Madrid and Barcelona for his signature.
That’s according to La Razón, who cover the Hornets man’s future today and say the pair are battling for his signature.
Estupiñan has been shining on loan with Osasuna this summer, and the Spanish side have an option to turn that move into a permanent one for €10m.
However, should they decide not to exercise that option he will be returning to Watford, who will have a chance to ‘take advantage’ of his great campaign to ‘cash in on him.’
Manchester United have been named among his suitors in the last few months, with the left-back still something of a problem position for them.
La Razón insist they remain keen and want him but, should they make their move, they will have to beat big competition for him.
Atlético are extremely interested in the Watford man as he is ‘very much liked’ by manager Diego Simeone, who is on the hunt for a new left-back as he plans on using Mario Hermoso as a centre back next season.
They are the ‘main rival’ to Barcelona for him, who have also eyed up a move and cannot be ‘ruled out’ at this stage.
They plan to sell Junior Firpo and view Estupiñan as an ideal replacement.
However, it hasn’t been ruled out that they will sign him and then loan him out to Real Valladolid, something they’ve already done with Matheus Fernandes in January.
Either way, it appears that Watford will have a whole host of suitors for their player should they decide to sell up this summer.
They are said to value Estupiñan at €20m, although it’s not made clear if Manchester United or the two La Liga giants are willing to pay that price.
