Chelsea are ‘inclined’ to loan out midfielder Marco van Ginkel this summer, and PSV Eindhoven would like him back at the club.

That’s according to NOS, who report that the midfielder’s name has ‘fallen repeatedly’ at the club as they look for a midfielder.

Van Ginkel’s contract with Chelsea was set to expire this summer, with the midfielder having publicly called on them to make a decision over whether he would be staying or leaving.

The 27-year-old has been at Stamford Bridge since 2013 but has spent the majority of his career at the club out on loan, as well as battling several long-term injuries.

Two of those loan spells have been at PSV Eindhoven, with Van Ginkel initially joining them in February 2016 and returning the following January before returning in June last year.

They are now keen to sign him for a third time, according to NOS, as they look for a successor to the departed Ibrahim Afellay or Jorrit Hendrix, who has been linked with a move away from the club.

Chelsea would seemingly be open to a deal as it’s stated they are ‘inclined’ to loan him out after handing him a contract extension.

Van Ginkel is also open to another spell with the club and ‘would like’ the chance to return after recovering from a knee injury over the last year.
