Manchester United will be sending scouts to Benfica’s cup match against Vizela tonight. As the Red Devils have been present at most of the games at Estádio da Luz this season, it’s basically not news anymore.
But as pointed out by O Jogo, it’s still interesting to think of who the spies will be keeping an eye on. Victor Lindelof, who’s said by O Jogo to have his transfer to the English club agreed, shouldn’t be involved in the match, according to the newspaper.
So they say that Manchester United’s possible targets would be the right-back Nelson Semedo or the striker Gonçalo Guedes.
O Jogo claims that Semedo is a target for the next summer, as already reported by some other newspapers, and Guedes is one of the players who Mourinho has as a ‘reference’.
The players are both young talents with €60m release clauses, who Benfica wouldn’t let go with ease. Although Semedo’s strong links with United last month almost sounded convincing, the rumours involving Guedes and Premier League clubs have always existed, but no bids were reported so far.
It used to be Lindelof who was claimed as the target, and considering O Jogo still believe that deal is done, they’re looking around for the next one.
