Manchester United ended up taking Odion Ighalo on a short-term loan deal from Shanghai Shenhua in the winter market after they failed to sign Erling Haaland.
The 19-year-old snubbed an opportunity to reunite with his former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and joined Borussia Dortmund.
Having managed 40 goals and nine assists in all competitions this season [11 goals and two assists for Dortmund], the striker is still attracting interest.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid have set their sights on the Norway international.
The Bundesliga will be the first major European league to resume on Saturday and Dortmund’s clash against Schalke this weekend will give the La Liga side an opportunity to take a closer look at the teenager.

Mundo adds that if Real fail to sign the former Molde man in the next window, they will try to secure his services in 2021, when he will have a €75m release clause.
Manchester United may well challenge the Madrid club for Haaland’s signature next summer.
