Manchester United are ‘close to buying’ Andre Onana from Inter Milan, who are already thinking about replacements for the Cameroonian.

That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who back up other reports in Italy of Manchester United being close to a deal.

Earlier today we covered a report from Gazzetta dello Sport which stated that Onana was already looking for an apartment in Manchester ahead of his potential move to Old Trafford, with the Reds set to make a €50m offer for him.

Corriere back that up, stating that Manchester United ‘could start the final offensive’ to make the transfer happen.

The belief is that there could be ‘an immediate acceleration’ from those in charge at Old Trafford, who are keen to wrap up a deal for a new number one as soon as possible.

Inter are wary of this and have already started negotiations for possible replacements so they are not left short in a key area of the team.

Onana’s exit is key to anything happening but Manchester United ‘want to go all the way’ for the player and, after Inter requested €60m at the beginning of negotiations, a deal could be struck at the €55m range with the addition of some bonuses agreed between the two parties.

United already have a ‘personal agreement’ in place with the player, who will sign a four or five-year deal at the club and then join Erik ten Hag’s squad on the pre-season tour in the United States.
