Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek’s agent has rubbished reports he’s offered himself to Barcelona.
That’s according to journalist Simon Zwartkruis, who says the player is determined to prove himself at Old Trafford.
Van de Beek has been linked with a move away from Manchester United this summer after a disappointing first season at the club following a move from Ajax last year.
A report yesterday claimed he was offering himself around and had contacted Barcelona to see if they would be interested.
That is because the Catalan giants are looking for an alternative to Georginio Wijnaldum, who has turned down a move to the Nou Camp in favour of joining Paris Saint Germain.
It was claimed Van de Beek is looking to take advantage of that and would love to play for Barcelona, although they are not keen on a move at this moment in time.
According to his agent, though, that and any other talk of a move away from Manchester United is nonsense.
“He (the agent) said it was complete bullshit,” Zwartkruis told Voetbal International.
“There has been a conversation with the trainer about next season.
“He just has to get fit quickly so that on day one, he is the strong Van de Beek they bought at the time.”
