Long known for producing talented players, Dinamo Zagreb continue to be a useful team for scouts to watch these days.
According to 24 Sata in Croatia, Manchester United are one of the latest clubs to take an active interest in the side’s youth academy, as they sent someone to observe their game against Manchester City in the UEFA Youth League.
Dinamo Zagreb walked away 1-0 winners in a game watched by Atlético Madrid, Valencia, Benfica, Real Sociedad, Eintracht Frankfurt, Wolfsburg, Lille, Paris Saint-Germain, Celtic, Inter Milan and the aforementioned Premier League side, with a number of youngsters impressing.
24 Sata state there are a ‘number of gems’ in this generation, with Antoni Marin, Tin Hrvoj, Josip Šutalo and Roko Jurišić among those looking to prove themselves like Bartol Franjić and Joško Gvardiol already have.
Who Manchester United were there to watch isn’t said, but it’s clear there’s a lot to pick from.
This doesn’t necessarily mean Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and co. will buy anyone anytime soon, but they won’t have travelled all that way just to see a football game.
They clearly have someone in mind.
Given the trip, it’s quite possible they also watched the senior match, in which Dani Olmo played.
