On Tuesday, we carried a report from Corriere dello Sport, who explained that Manchester United are one of the sides keen on Victor Osimhen.
The Red Devils looking at the Napoli star is further detailed by the newspaper’s journalist, Antonio Giordano. He appeared as a guest on Canale 8’s ‘Ne Parliamo il Martedì’ and his comments are relayed by Tutto Napoli.
Giordano stated the 23-year-old could be keen to make a switch to Manchester United, if they were to make a firm approach for him in the next window.
“Osimhen is followed by half the world and it is true that Newcastle showed 100 million in January, but in my opinion, if the English club returns, the Nigerian will not go,” he said.
“Meanwhile, Arsenal never stopped following him and, surprisingly, Manchester United. In the personal imagination of a 23-year-old player, United are a temptation and if the Red Devils reach certain figures, history teaches us those certain operations must be done.
“Otherwise, you find yourself as in the case of Allan, who was about to go to PSG and never went there. At certain figures it is madness not to sell.”
Cristiano Ronaldo and Edinson Cavani are currently the two recognised strikers available at Old Trafford. The Uruguay international’s contract expires in June and he’s likely to leave the club as a free agent.
Cavani’s exit will force the Manchester club to look for a new striker in the summer and Osimhen could be an option to consider for them. The Nigerian has managed 15 goals and four assists from 25 matches in all competitions this season for Napoli.
