Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes paid his old club Boavista a visit at the weekend.
In order to stay in shape, the midfielder went to the Estádio do Bessa to train during his vacations in Portugal.
Boavista filmed it all, and it turned out they made quite a nice gesture by surprising a young player with the chance of training with Bruno.
The club called 17-year-old goalkeeper Rafael Flores to train and didn’t tell him exactly who he’d be working with. The teenager had no idea he’d meet one of Europe’s current football stars.
Bruno Fernandes spoke to Boavista’s official channels, and thanked his former club for giving him a place to train.
“Thanks again for being willing to help so that I can arrive in the best conditions for the new season,” said Bruno Fernandes (via O Jogo). “Training where I grew up and lived all through formation is always better.”
Rafael Flores also talked about it, claiming it was a unique chance to train with the Manchester United player.
“An experience that will certainly remain for life, thanks to everyone involved and to those who remembered me. Very happy to be able to share the pitch with one of the best in the world.”
Bruno Fernandes spent eight years at Boavista’s academy before starting his professional career in Italy. He never played for their first team, but has already admitted he may return to the club by the end of his career.
