Manchester United are interested in Vejle BK youngster Wahid Faghir but could face competition from Bologna for his signature.
That’s according to Resto del Carlino, relayed by 1000 Cuori Rossoblu, who say the Italian side are also keen on the youngster.
The newspaper explains that Bologna are working hard on their squad in the final weeks of the window, and that includes targeting youngsters for the future.
Two names are currently ‘at the top of the wish list’, and they are Ricardo Pepi, who plays for Dallas in the USA, and Faghir, who is currently plying his trade in Denmark and a part of their Under 21 set up.
He’s been earning rave reviews in his homeland and has been compared to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, which has, of course, sent the scouts to come and watch him.
Among them are Manchester United, who, alongside AC Milan and Ajax, are ‘above all’ in showing interest in the 18-year-old.
Their scouts have reportedly had their eyes on Faghir, who is a centre forward in case that wasn’t clear, ‘for some time’.
Bologna, though, are ready to ‘bet seriously’ on him after he managed six goals last season, with his ‘strength, speed and quality’ the main characteristics that they believe could make him a hit in Italy.
They need their directors to sanction a deal, and a sale is needed before they can do so, but the interest in the youngster is there as they try to beat the likes of Manchester United to his signature.
