Valencia have not received a bid from Manchester United for midfielder Uros Racic, despite claims of interest from the English media.
That’s according to Marca, who back up Super Deporte by dismissing the rumour out of hand today.
Earlier this week, a report in England claimed that Manchester United could offer €30m for the midfielder as they look to add to their squad before the end of the transfer window.
That was dismissed by Super Deporte on September 16th, with them stating that Valencia ‘have no news’ about a potential bid and were yet to receive one.
Marca say the same, reporting that according to their information Valencia ‘have no evidence of any offer’ from Manchester United at this moment in time.
That is not to say a bid would not be considered, with the newspaper stating that if there was a ‘good proposal’ that satisfied everyone, then a transfer would have to be taken into consideration.
However, no such bid has arrived, and actually, the player has ‘shown a positive attitude’ to negotiate a new two-year deal at the club. Indeed, meetings have already taken place with the club over that happening.
The newspaper reports that Racic ‘feels comfortable and recognised’ in both the city and the club and therefore considers it a good place to continue his development.
Furthermore, Valencia are ‘delighted’ by that reaction from the player and so the ‘logical thing’ is that an agreement on an extension can be closed sooner rather than later.
Thus, any talk of a potential move to Old Trafford is very much wide of the mark at this moment in time. There has been no bid; Valencia have no evidence one might arrive, and the player wants to stay at the Mestalla anyway.
Which means this was probably all an agent-driven rumour, perhaps using Manchester United to drive up his client’s value and in the process, secure a better deal with Valencia.
