Maxi Oyedele spent 12 years at Manchester United before leaving them permanently for Legia Warsaw last summer.

The 20-year-old graduated from the Red Devils’ academy but failed to find his way into their first team.

Manchester United sent him on loan to Altrincham and Forest Green Rovers before selling him to the Polish club. As part of the agreement with Legia Warsaw, the Premier League club are entitled to receive 50% of any profit from his future sale.

Manchester United could be able to cash in as soon as the summer window. That’s according to Meczyki.pl, who state Shakhtar Donetsk are keen on signing the midfielder.

Oyedele has been a regular for the Polish club and his performances helped him make his debut for Poland in October. The Ukrainian club are looking to strengthen their squad with the former Manchester United man.

The report states the Pole’s contract includes a €6m release clause, of which 50% will go to Manchester United. They add talks are ongoing and Shakhtar Donetsk are willing to exercise the clause.

Meczyki.pl don’t know if Oyedele is open to joining Shakhtar Donetsk.
