Turkish newspaper Star have reported Manchester United are still closely watching Besiktas’ attacking midfielder Anderson Talisca. The 23 year old Brazilian has been in impressive form for Besiktas this season and has been key in the Black Eagles’ title challenge.
It’s claimed Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been keeping tabs on Talisca since he was at Benfica and he’s ready table an offer to Portuguese club of around €20m.
It’s likely Talisca will favour a move to Manchester United England but things aren’t very clear, the player recently said: “I know there are teams which are following me. Benfica wants to sell me to earn money as well. But my initial decision is to stay at Besiktas for one more year. I like being around here. I love the fans, it’s a wonderful club. I am hoping to play in the Champions League with Besiktas again and then I’ll want to make my final decision.”
However, for Besiktas to retain Talisca on a permanent basis they would have to outbid Manchester United, which is unlikely to be done by their president Fikret Orman. Another negative point for Besiktas is that playing in the Premier League for Manchester United is an opportunity hard to turn down for the South American.
Claims of Manchester United interest in Talisca are encouraged by Mourinho’s positive comments about the player when he moved to Benfica. Whether there’s anything more in it than that remains to be seen.
