As things stand, there is a problem at Manchester United down the right hand side of their attack, as Antony has delayed his return to the squad to deal with off the pitch allegations, while Jadon Sancho is being left out due to his training performances.

That’s what Erik ten Hag has said, regardless of what the player has to say about it, meaning the Red Devils are a bit short in that area of the pitch.

This has reportedly led them to look for a reinforcement in that position, where Athletic Club’s Nico Williams is a reported target, according to Fichajes.

It’s stated that Manchester United have ‘set their eyes’ on the young forward, who currently has a release clause of €50m in his contract.

Aston Villa were already keen this summer, but were turned down by the Spain international, but a move to Old Trafford would be very different.

With Manchester United looking for a player who can help in the ‘short and long term’, the forward is an ideal player for the role, especially with a contract expiring next summer.

That being said, Williams and Athletic Bilbao are currently in talks for a renewal with a very interesting release clause format, which could frustrate any future bidders.
