Manchester United have reportedly sent scouts to two Portuguese league matches this weekend.

One of them was at Benfica’s 2-0 away win against Belenenses, and Record claim the Red Devils officials were at the Restelo Stadium to specifically watch two players: left-back Alex Grimaldo and the striker Gonçalo Guedes.

CapturarThey have both been linked to United for a while, and the club caught a good day to watch the duo. Grimaldo, who’s having a great start of season, had a decent match and scored Benfica’s second goal. Guedes was chosen as the man of the match by Record, due to the many chances he’s created.

Both have a €60m release clause, and Benfica would certainly keep the tradition to use these figures as a support to negotiate a high price, even though we all know none of them is worth something close to it.

Manchester United, who were called ‘Manchester United Limited’ by A Bola, also had emissaries at the Porto vs Arouca match.

CapturarA Bola can’t say who the officials were watching. The only Porto player who’s been recently linked to the Red Devils is the Mexican midfielder Héctor Herrera.

The 26-year-old couldn’t do much in Porto’s 3-0 win, with newspaper O Jogo saying he ‘disappeared’ from the game.

Herrera has been looking for a way out of Porto for a few months now, and was heavily linked to Liverpool and Napoli during the summer.

Maybe that’s why we didn’t believe it when the rumours regarding Manchester United started.

The man of the match was Porto striker André Silva, who scored a brace and now has seven goals in 13 games this season. He’s been linked a lot to Arsenal recently.
