Having spent around £150m this transfer window, you’d expect Manchester United to stop there.
That very well might be the case, but this didn’t stop José Mourinho’s scouting team from taking a trip to France over the weekend to have a look at a young versatile forward.
According to RMC in France, three English clubs made the trip to watch Bordeaux beat Nantes 1-0, more specifically to keep an eye on Diego Rolan, who so happened to score the only goal of the game.
The French media outlet also state that Bayern Munich sent a representative to observe the 23-year-old.
So far, Bordeaux have revealed they are yet to receive an offer for the Uruguayan forward, but if the right amount of money were to land on their desk, they would be willing to let him go.
Currently contracted to the French club until 2018, Rolan appears to be a long-term Manchester United target, with reports going back as far as 2012 of the Premier League side scouting him when he was still playing Defensor in his home country.
He has so far scored two goals in three appearances for the Ligue 1 side this season.
