It’s not exactly a secret that Manchester United scout a big percentage of games from the Portuguese league.
The Red Devils hardly miss any matches from Benfica, Porto or Sporting, so often it’s not even reported.
But a visit from Manchester United emissaries can still be big news for some minor clubs. And recently promoted side Nacional are now waiting to host them.
As reported by newspaper A Bola today, the Red Devils have requested accreditations for the game between the Alvinegros and Benfica, and should be sending a scout to the match.
So that’s an illustrious and exciting visit for Nacional, whose stadium only holds 5200 people. The club, which is based in the city of Funchal, in Ilha da Madeira, is where Cristiano Ronaldo played between 1995 and 1997.
With Manchester United scouting so many games in Portugal, it’s impossible to know if they are keeping an eye on a specific player. Maybe they’re looking for a new CR7.
