Manchester United are ready to spend €90m to sign Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli this summer.
The defender is expected to leave the Serie A side, with it widely expected they will undertake a significant overhaul of the squad this summer.
Several big names are expected to depart, and Koulibaly is one of them, with the centre back attracting attention from several big clubs in Europe.
Manchester United are one of them and, according to Cronache di Napoli, relayed by Arena Napoli, have already made their move.
The newspaper reports that United’s management are ‘ready’ to spend €90m to sign Koulibaly this summer and have already been in contact with his agent Fali Ramadani.
Such a price would make Napoli chief Aurelio di Laurentiis ‘waver’, with it explained it is already looking likely to be ‘very difficult’ to keep him at the club.
That’s because, while Koulibaly feels connected to Naples, he has ‘been waiting’ for years for his ‘great opportunity’ and knows that at 28, he can’t wait any longer.
Napoli won’t provide any discounts for one of their star men, but a bid such as Manchester United’s would not be dismissed.
Indeed, De Laurentiis admitted a few months ago that sooner or later he would have to sell Koulibaly and it seems if United were to offer such a high price, they might finally get their man.
