Rosenborg BK’s Sverre Nypan has ended up on Manchester United’s transfer agenda.
That’s according to Fussball News, who provide this as their original information and add that the Red Devils have the 17-year-old on their wish list.
It’s further claimed Manchester United have ‘put out feelers’ to Norway in search of talent.
Rosenborg signed the Norway U19 international from Nardo in 2020 and promoted him to their first team in 2022. Operating mainly as a midfielder and at times as a centre forward, he’s made 34 appearances, managing five goals and six assists in the process.
Nypan’s father Arne had earlier talked about the importance of staying in the country until he turns 18 years of age, which happens in December. It’s claimed he wouldn’t be a serious topic for Manchester United until January 2025.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS have taken control of the sporting side at Manchester United. Their idea is to ‘secure this gem’ and then send the youngster on loan elsewhere to help him prepare for the Premier League.
Those responsible at Old Trafford rate Nypan’s ‘game intelligence, positioning and spatial awareness as outstanding’, while he needs to work on a few other aspects.
INEOS apparently see Nypan, who is likened to Arsenal star Martin Ødegaard, as an ‘investment for the future’. Other clubs are also looking at him, so Manchester United may not have it all their own way.
