One of the many issues that have plagued Erik ten Hag’s second season in charge of Manchester United has been an inability to get the midfield to click properly.
The big signing of Mason Mount has yet to produce any results, and the recent injury to Casemiro will pose him another problem to deal with between now and the January transfer window.
However, there appears to be movement regarding the potential addition of another midfielder to the Manchester United squad in January, with Corriere dello Sport reporting an interest in a Premier League midfielder.
That man is Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, who is currently in and out of his team in London, and whom Juventus are interested in signing on loan.
However, the newspaper explain that both Manchester United and Atletico Madrid are providing ‘fierce competition’ in what could be a €30m signing.
That figure is what Spurs are reportedly asking for, especially when taking into account the Premier League side are set to lose two of their starters in January (Sarr and Bissouma) for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Still, Manchester United are seemingly looking at a potential deal there, and we will be keeping an eye on this going forward, as we edge closer to the January transfer window.
