At the weekend, reports from Portugal started claiming that Manchester United fullback Alex Telles could soon be on his way back to the country.
Following his arrival at Old Trafford from Porto in the summer, the 28-year-old was unable to steal Luke Shaw’s place in the team, making only seven appearances in the Premier League.
So newspaper Record claimed the Red Devils could include Telles in a swap deal for Sporting left-back Nuno Mendes, who the Premier League side have been following for a while now.
Those rumours were later denied by Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, who added some signs from the Brazilian’s social media showing he wouldn’t join another Liga NOS club if not Porto.
Now it’s time for the Brazilian media to deny it as well. UOL features a story today that states despite being benched, Alex Telles has ‘total confidence’ from manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The report claims that his departure in the summer hasn’t been considered by the Red Devils so far. The player isn’t keen on a move out of Old Trafford either, as he’s told people close to him that he wants to keep fighting for a place in the team.
