Manchester United star Alexis Sanchez has returned to Chile to recover from his injury, according to reports from South America.
AS claims that ‘El Niño Maravilla’ has ‘surprisingly’ returned to his home country to take care of his muscular problem which should stop him from playing again in 2018.
It’s said that the player landed in Santiago on Monday, and is expected to make his recovery at the Juan Pinto Durán training centre, where he will be close to the national team staff and to manager Reinaldo Rueda.
The Chilean media seems to be pretty surprised with Sanchez’s visit, as none of them anticipated it or wrote stories about it, and they’re all covering what AS originally wrote.
Although the Chilean press had many stories encouraging the player to leave Arsenal last year, they’ve gone quiet now, without any new stories about the player’s future at Old Trafford. Just some comments on how bad things have been.
If he’s still there for Christmas, Sanchez will likely take the chance to hand toys out on a beach in Tocopilla, a tradition he started which has been impacted since he moved to the Premier League and had to give up a break over the festive period.
