Despite being a regular at Manchester United, starting every single Premier League game under Erik ten Hag since the Dutchman took over at Old Trafford, the news that Diogo Dalot could leave continues to circulate.
It appears to have stemmed from Spain, where they thought his contract was up in the summer when there is in fact a club option to extend that by a year, which the Red Devils will undoubtedly trigger.
Still, as we all know, news travels fast, even when it isn’t entirely true, and it’s reached Italy, where we are now seeing claims that Dalot is looking for a new club.
Juventus are the ones reportedly interested, as they could see both Juan Cuadrado and Alex Sandro leave next summer, and two other players should come in to replace them.
Calciomercato are the ones stating this, adding that ‘among the profiles followed’, there is Diogo Dalot, who is apparently ‘looking around with his agent to find a new team’.
The Serie A side are ‘not alone’ in this, as AS Roma, managed by José Mourinho, are also said to be there.
Honestly, the likeliest scenario in all this is that Manchester United will extend his contract by a year, and then work on a renewal, as Erik ten Hag clearly enjoys working with him, or he would be starting someone else in his stead.
