The Uruguayan national team continues to struggle with Coronavirus cases within the squad.
When facing Brazil in the World Cup qualifiers last night, their national team had already been missing Matias Viña, Luis Suarez and Rodrigo Muñoz, besides press secretary Matias Faral, all positive for Covid-19.
There was a reported concern regarding Manchester United star Edinson Cavani, who was close to all of them over the past few days.
Now as new results came out, the Uruguayan FA revealed seven other cases. These were players Alexis Rolin and Diego Rossi, plus five members of the coaching staff.
El Observador reports that all the squad is currently isolated at the Regency Hotel in Montevideo. Each player has their own room, as recommended by FIFA’s protocol.
The outlet doesn’t make it clear if they’ll be waiting for a new test before joining their clubs again. But even though most international players are now heading back to their domestic sides, it seems the Uruguayan stars may stay a little longer.
Manchester United are playing West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
