Donny van de Beek hasn’t enjoyed the prominence he wanted since leaving Ajax for Manchester United.

The Dutchman hasn’t been getting the minutes he expected and has recently made his frustration very clear. However, whatever he’s said recently, the player’s record shows his talents are best used in attack, and given that, and that his agent has stated Van de Beek is a No.10, there’s not a big chance of things changing.

Bruno Fernandes isn’t going to be pushed aside, and with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also having to accomodate Paul Pogba, there’s not much room for a player like the former Ajax man.

Even if there were to be a mini plague among the attacking midfielders at Old Trafford, Jesse Lingard’s recent impact has suggested he’d be ahead of Van de Beek anyway.

Naturally, transfer rumours have been growing in recent months, and that’s seen clubs around Europe linked with the potential deal, although they all seem to want a loan.

PassioneInter have spoken to Alec Cordolcini, described as an expert on Dutch football, who told them: “Van de Beek has come to a dead end in his career. His move to Manchester United, for various reasons, proved to be a flop. Partly because of him, partly because of the kind of team that United is… In my opinion he should have already left last year. He wanted to stay to carve out a space, but as we are seeing, he is still out of the picture.”

With the January transfer window around the corner, rumours will only rise, and Van de Beek’s agent will likely pop a few times in the coming months.
