AS Roma are currently ninth in La Liga which isn’t exactly what the club expected when they took Monchi from Sevilla.
The much lauded director of football was supposed to elevate Roma to a fighting position with Juventus and others in Italy, but it’s going the other way.
There appears to be frustration on behalf of both Roma and Monchi, with the club feeling there hasn’t been the magic expected, and the Spaniard not having the control he’d like over transfer business and plans for the future.
Gazzetta dello Sport reports Monchi does have opportunities elsewhere and one of those is put as Manchester United.
The transfer guru is said to be ‘heavily courted’ by the Manchester club, Barcelona, PSG and Atletico Madrid.
That’s a very prestigious list of clubs and given Monchi has so far only enjoyed success at Sevilla, there may be some concerns given the issues at Roma.
Manchester United have been endlessly linked without there ever feeling anything especially serious.
