Napoli star Fabián Ruiz has ended up becoming a reported transfer target for Manchester United.
The 25-year-old has been a regular for the Serie A side since he joined them from Real Betis in 2018. This season, the midfielder has managed five goals and three assists in 19 matches in all competitions.
His current deal at the Naples club runs out in 2023 and he is not close to signing a new deal with Luciano Spalletti’s side.
La Repubblica now explains that Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli likes Davide Frattesi. The Sassuolo midfielder is also wanted by Inter Milan as he is the ‘number one goal’ for Simone Inzaghi’s side next season.
It’s claimed the Nerazzurri are expected to have a meeting with Sassuolo next week in Milan to discuss a potential summer deal for Frattesi. Napoli are also in the picture, but before making an approach for him, they need to ‘resolve the issue’ with Fabián first.
The Spain international could leave Napoli at the end of the season, given that there are numerous requests from the Premier League, with ‘Manchester United on pole’.
The report even adds Napoli ‘could sell Fabián Ruiz’ to the Red Devils next summer, when he will have only one year left on his contract.
La Repubblica just mentions United are ‘on pole’ and Napoli could sell the player to the Old Trafford club. If the Premier League side are serious about the Spaniard, we should hear more on this topic in the coming weeks and months.
