Manchester United’s big rumour at the moment is Victor Lindelof.
There were fresh claims from the Portuguese media on Tuesday of acceptable offers, and an ever rising price, but it doesn’t really feel like much has changed since we brought all the reports together on Monday.
It’s worth reading when you’ve finished with this.

The links with Lindelof have been assisted over the months by Manchester United’s scouting record. Portuguese clubs are pretty unique in a tradition to publish the lists of scouts attending games, which then fuels transfer rumours.
In a world where it’s clear some transfer stories are plucked from thin air, something factual like who a club is scouting can be more concrete. It’s not rumoured, the lists are confirmed by the Portuguese clubs, and unless someone has used Manchester United accreditation fraudulently then it’s factual.
With Manchester United scouting every Benfica match recently, that’s given weight to one or more players being of interest, and therefore pushed the claims.
But it’s not only Benfica who Manchester United have been watching repeatedly. In the A Bola match report of Porto beating Chaves 2-1, it’s stated the club had an official in attendance on Monday evening.
The latest flavour of the month is Andre Silva, who didn’t have a standout game. The young striker has been linked with Manchester United recently, thanks to the scouting records, but there’s every possibility the Old Trafford official was just looking generally, waiting to be impressed.
Inevitably, Manchester United will now be linked with Andre Silva once again. Maybe Danilo too, with the midfielder scoring and reports Morgan Schneiderlin and/or Marouane Fellaini could be leaving in January.
