Manchester United are trying their best to keep Luca Ercolani, reports Italian website TMW.
The 19 year old has been with the Old Trafford club since he moved from Italy in 2016. He’s currently a part of United’s U23 squad and has played for the club in Premier League 2 and the UEFA Youth League.
A central defender, his contract is set to expire at the end of this month, but that doesn’t mean he’s being edged out of the club.
TMW explain Manchester United have offered a two year contract to the youngster, which would take him through to 2021 and the age of 21.
They may not have it their own way, with the Italian website reporting ‘many teams’ are interested in a swoop. Serie A’s SPAL are keen, along with Serie B sides Empoli, Ascoli, Cremonese , Pordenone, Bari, Spezia and Vicenza.
Should one of those clubs offer a longer deal and a realistic chance at the first team then Ercolani will possibly be tempted.
